About COVID-19

Beginning in late 2019, SARS-CoV-2 (the virus) continues to spread, causing an emergence of COVID-19 (disease) cases around the world. Established as a pandemic by WHO in March 2020, we are doing everything we can in our division to screen, test, treat, vaccinate and serve patients during this chaotic time.

A Cross-campus COVID-19 Task Force made up of infectious disease specialists from ZSFGH, VA, and UCSF hospitals has been established to provide educational materials, resources, and guidance. The task force has began providing bi-weekly digests with up-to-date information.

Please visit https://hividgm.ucsf.edu/covid-19/downloadable-digests for downloadable PDFs of the COVID-19 digest.

Infectious Disease teams throughout our campuses are developing and regularly updating algorithms and protocols to meet the urgent needs of the pandemic. We believe that by sharing our work, we can flatten the curve and curb the number of cases domestically and internationally. Please visit clinical protocols and teaching resources for more information.
