Learning Objectives:
To achieve familiarity with existing studies documenting an increased risk of both clinical and subclinical cardiovascular disease in people living with HIV, along with their limitations
To understand the sociodemographic characteristics of women with HIV in the U.S., and their high burden of cardiovascular risk factors
To gain knowledge on the role of HIV and related factors in development of subclinical cardiac disease in women, using sociodemographically similar women without HIV as the comparison group
To appreciate the implications of the increased risk of subclinical cardiac disease in women for evaluation and management.
