Assistant Professor of Medicine

Dr. Andew Kerkhoff is a physician-scientist and an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of HIV, Infectious Diseases, and Global Medicine at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital (ZSFG). His research has two main focuses: (1) He has more than a decade of experience evaluating novel tests and strategies to improve the diagnosis of tuberculosis (TB) in sub-Saharan Africa, with a focus on low-cost, point-of-care tools. (2) He also applies implementation science methods to improve individual- and population-level outcomes through the development, implementation, and evaluation of equity-focused, effective, scalable, and sustainable TB, HIV, and COVID-19 care engagement strategies in the United States and Zambia. Dr. Kerkhoff is an Associate Program Director for Curriculum for the UCSF Implementation Science Training Program and also serves as the Director of the UCSF CFAR Implementation Science Interest Group.
